This question always brings tears to my eyes - it makes me appreciate the jouey and take a step back from everyday hustle and momentum. I was just 17 years old when I decided to move to the United States from Iran - to pursue my American dream.

As a teenager in a new country I found myself completely lost. I didn’t speak English, wasn’t able to communicate effectively, and had no friends or acquaintances. Until a few weeks prior to relocating to the United States, I had been spending weekends with relatives, friends and surrounded with so much love! Yet, I had none of that here. Unlike many, weekends were the toughest days of the week for me – reminding me how lonely I was.
